Dialysis Equipment Technician

About the role

The Dialysis Equipment Technician ensures that all water treatment, dialysis, and related medical equipment operate safely and efficiently. Working under supervision, the technician supports patient care, maintains inventory, and contributes to cost‑containment initiatives within the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, test, and repair water treatment, dialysis, and other medical equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and internal policies.
• Document all maintenance activities, perform safety checks, and ensure housekeeping standards are met.
• Clean and disinfect water treatment systems, calibrate testing equipment, and conduct routine building maintenance.
• Coordinate medical waste disposal and restock supplies, including creating SAP purchase orders.
• Perform inventory counts, generate cost reports, and evaluate equipment inventory.
• Provide patient support during treatment, answer questions, and give tours of equipment when requested.
• Process water and dialysate samples for shipping and participate in technical QAPI activities.
• Assist other facilities or acute programs by transporting equipment and supplies as needed.
