Cyber Security Specialist (Firewall Technologies)

About the role

Evertec is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to lead the administration, configuration, and optimization of enterprise firewall platforms. You will protect the network perimeter, design security policies, and collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to ensure secure connectivity across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco Firepower).
• Design, implement, and maintain security policies, access control rules, NAT, VPNs, and network segmentation.
• Monitor network perimeter for threats, analyze firewall logs, and respond to security incidents.
• Conduct firewall rule reviews, security assessments, and configuration audits for compliance.
• Implement and maintain NGFW, IDS/IPS, EDR/ATP, and other security technologies.
• Collaborate with cloud (Azure, AWS) and on‑premise teams to ensure secure connectivity.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or firewall administration.
• Hands‑on experience with major enterprise firewall vendors.
• Professional certifications such as PCNSA/PCNSE, NSE4+, CCNP Security, Security+ are highly preferred.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
