Customer Care Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Customer Care Specialist to join our maritime logistics team. You will provide end‑to‑end support for import and export shipments, ensuring customers receive timely updates and that all regulatory requirements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and follow‑up on shipment status, schedules, and cargo updates.
• Coordinate import and export processes for regular cargo, vehicles, and hazardous materials.
• Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documentation such as bookings, bills of lading, manifests, and AES filings.
• Liaise with customers, agents, carriers, terminals, vessels, and regulatory agencies.
• Monitor cargo and equipment in transit, resolve delays or cost issues, and handle claims, inspections, demurrage, penalties, and cargo releases.
• Generate operational reports, track KPIs, and identify process‑improvement opportunities.
• Support internal and external audits, special projects, and other departmental needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Strong administrative and customer‑service background.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
• High sense of urgency, accountability, and professional ethics.
• Willingness to work varying shifts, overtime, holidays, and travel to Mayagüez and the Dominican Republic.
