Creative Strategist

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Creative Strategist to join its Advisors Client Services team in Lisbon. The role supports the development of innovative client solutions by translating business objectives into compelling creative strategies and narratives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of creative strategies on key briefs in close collaboration with the Creative Strategy Manager.
• Translate business objectives, brand challenges, and insights into clear strategic directions and creative platforms.
• Conduct desk research across markets, competitors, consumers, and cultural trends, distilling complex information into inspiring insights.
• Write high‑quality creative briefs that inspire creative teams while aligning internal and client stakeholders.
• Participate in briefing sessions, creative handovers, and act as a strategic partner throughout the development process.
• Provide constructive feedback to creative teams, balancing ambition with client and business realities.
• Contribute to the development of strategic best practices, frameworks, and internal tools.

Required profile

• 6–10 years of experience in creative strategy, brand planning, or communications strategy within leading or consolidated creative agencies.
• Proven track record working on top‑tier brands and complex, multi‑channel campaigns.
• Excellent strategic writing skills, especially in insight articulation and creative brief development.
• Confident presenter and storyteller comfortable in senior internal and client‑facing settings.
• Highly collaborative with strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent English with the ability to lead strategic conversations in an international environment.
• Curious about culture, creativity, and how brands meaningfully engage people.
