Community & Social Coordinator (Remote)

About the role

Percona is seeking a Community & Social Coordinator who will own the technical voice across social and content channels. Embedded within the engineering team, you will translate real database work into engaging content that developers and DBAs value.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the end‑to‑end social media strategy, including channel priorities, content pillars, voice, cadence, and success metrics.
• Convert engineering output—patches, RFCs, benchmarks, incident post‑mortems—into developer‑focused threads, technical breakdowns, short‑form videos, and cross‑posted blog articles.
• Build a repeatable system for sourcing content directly from ongoing engineering activities such as release cycles and on‑call retrospectives.
• Leverage AI‑assisted tools for video production, drafting, and repurposing while maintaining technical accuracy.
• Track and report metrics that matter to a technical audience, focusing on engaged developers rather than raw impressions.
• Participate regularly in engineering stand‑ups, sprint reviews, and design discussions to stay fluent in open‑source database engineering conversations.
• Monitor community sentiment on social and community channels, amplify contributor voices, and perform light moderation to support the content strategy.

Required profile

• Credible peer to engineers with a deep understanding of open‑source database internals (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Ability to interview engineers, spot technical inaccuracies, and provide constructive feedback.
• Comfortable engaging in community forums, Slack/Discord, and GitHub discussions.
• Proactive in monitoring community conversations and shaping content based on those insights.
• Strong commitment to authenticity and technical accuracy in all communications.
