Client Accounting Advisor

About the role

As a Client Accounting Advisor you will act as a trusted financial partner for multiple clients, primarily those operating under Puerto Rico’s Act 60 tax incentive decrees. You will manage day‑to‑day accounting, ensure compliance, and provide insight into financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary accounting contact for Act 60 decree holders, supporting reporting, audit, and annual report requirements.
• Monitor and document client adherence to decree conditions, including employment thresholds, investment requirements, and charitable contributions.
• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and cash‑flow activity.
• Prepare weekly, bi‑weekly, and month‑end financial statements and forecasts.
• Reconcile General Ledger activity and ensure data accuracy.
• Build and maintain client relationships through proactive, timely communication.
• Analyze financial trends, flag growth opportunities, and support job costing, budgeting, and project profitability reporting.
• Assist in implementing automation tools and process improvements using QuickBooks, Bill.com, and Fathom.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in public accounting or a comparable role.
• Working knowledge of Puerto Rico Act 60 tax incentive programs (strongly preferred).
• Solid understanding of GAAP.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in client‑facing situations.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn.
• Experience with job or project accounting, commission tracking, or property‑management systems is a plus.
