Business Development Coordinator

About the role

A2F Consulting, an international advisory firm supporting development projects in emerging markets, is looking for a proactive Business Development Coordinator based in Lisbon. The role will help grow the firm’s pipeline, support capture strategies, and contribute directly to revenue and proposal conversion.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and research new business opportunities, market trends, and potential clients.
• Support the development and execution of business development strategies and capture plans.
• Prepare proposals, presentations, and business pitches for prospective clients.
• Maintain and update CRM systems with leads, opportunities, and client data.
• Develop and maintain a structured pipeline, tracking and prioritising opportunities.
• Contribute to go/no‑go decisions and capture strategies for priority bids.
• Conduct competitive intelligence and stakeholder mapping for strategic bids.
• Support contract structuring, documentation, and scheduling of BD activities.
• Assist in client relationship management and identification of follow‑on opportunities.
• Analyse pipeline and sales performance data and prepare regular internal reports.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales or commercial roles.
• Experience preparing technical proposals for international donors (e.g., EU, World Bank, AFD, IDB) is a plus.
• Strong written English; additional fluency in Portuguese, Spanish or French is an asset.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Customer‑focused, collaborative and adaptable to dynamic environments.
