Border Patrol Agent – Reemployed Annuitant (GS-12)

About the role

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking retired agents to return to the front lines as reemployed annuitants. This full‑time position allows you to use your experience to protect the nation’s borders while retaining your retirement benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Prevent illegal entry of persons and contraband by land, water, or air.
• Enforce criminal provisions of immigration and nationality laws.
• Detect, question, and apprehend undocumented non‑citizens and smugglers.
• Conduct surveillance from covert positions, including night operations with infrared scopes.
• Perform farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using vehicles, horses, vessels, off‑road vehicles, and ATVs.

Required profile

• Retired U.S. Border Patrol Agent eligible for reemployment.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to meet federal law‑enforcement fitness standards.
• Willingness to undergo accelerated re‑entry training.
