Backend Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join the Innovation & Engineering Hub in Lisbon. You will work on the Connected Maps service for the TRATON Group, delivering up‑to‑date map data to heavy‑truck fleets and supporting over‑the‑air updates.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy and operate backend solutions on AWS using DevOps practices.
• Develop high‑quality, maintainable and scalable Python code, preferably with Flask.
• Implement infrastructure as code with AWS CDK and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of features, collaborating with international developers, architects and testers.
• Continuously improve services, tooling and processes in a global team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of software development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a track record of delivering reliable solutions.
• Experience with Python and web frameworks such as Flask.
• Hands‑on experience with a cloud provider (preferably AWS) and its CDK.
• Proficiency in setting up and using CI/CD pipelines, especially GitLab.
