Automation Engineer

About the role

The Automation Engineer will support the design, integration, and operation of automated packaging lines that interface with an Automated Warehouse, including Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs). You will ensure all automation solutions meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, logistics and integration of automated packaging lines, ASRS and AGV systems.
• Create equipment and system specifications based on material, compliance and operator requirements.
• Lead compliance documentation for CGMP, 21 CFR Part 11 and FDA requirements.
• Support commissioning, qualification, validation and operation of new packaging lines.
• Develop, test, implement and validate critical automation and software systems.
• Partner with Quality Assurance, CSV, Manufacturing, IT/OT and other teams to maintain GxP compliance.
• Review machine‑control designs, including PLCs and HMI/SCADA platforms (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, RSView, PanelView).
• Work with vendors/consultants to ensure contracts and technical specifications meet project needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in a GxP‑regulated environment with strong knowledge of applicable regulations.
• Hands‑on experience implementing industrial automation and integrated systems, preferably with robotics, ASRS and AGV.
• Familiarity with Industry 4.0, IIoT and digital manufacturing technologies.
• Fluent English communication skills and willingness to travel to manufacturing sites.
