Assistant Branch Manager

About the role

Island Finance, the leading financial institution in Puerto Rico, is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager in driving sales performance, customer service excellence, and operational efficiency across its network.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager in developing and motivating the team to meet or exceed sales targets.
• Analyze loan applications, maximize approvals, and ensure effective collection of accounts.
• Prepare daily branch performance reports and statistical summaries.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Control sensitive information, vault assets, checks, keys, and documents.
• Disburse loans, manage payroll, attendance, and scheduling.
• Conduct random audits, digitize case files, and handle first collections for new employees.
• Make follow‑up calls on approved requests and open/close the branch as needed.

Required profile

• Associate degree or at least two years of university studies.
• Basic supervisory knowledge and familiarity with financial products.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and goal‑driven mindset.
• Leadership, oral and written communication, and decision‑making abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Team‑player attitude.
