Trainee Civil Engineer – Roads & Railways

About the role

Quadrante is seeking a motivated Trainee Civil Engineer to join its Roads and Railways department in Porto. You will work on a variety of national and international infrastructure projects, gaining hands‑on experience in transport engineering within a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of road and railway projects from concept to delivery.
• Ensure project milestones are met and deadlines are respected.
• Perform geometric design, earthworks, and drainage calculations using specialised software.
• Verify that designs comply with national, international, and sector‑specific regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create optimized engineering solutions.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, project summaries, Bills of Quantities and design specifications.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with road and railway design software is a plus.
• Interest in BIM solutions.
• Strong willingness to learn, proactive attitude and good communication skills.
• Attention to detail, problem‑solving mindset and ability to work in a team.
• Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
