Stakeholder & Community Engagement Manager

About the role

Nscale is seeking a Stakeholder & Community Engagement Manager to lead local engagement for its GPU cloud infrastructure in Portugal. The role sits within the Global Affairs function and acts as the on‑the‑ground representative, ensuring the project is understood, supported, and delivered with minimal disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, planning bodies, MPs, community leaders, NGOs and other stakeholder groups.
• Develop and keep an up‑to‑date stakeholder map and engagement plan.
• Design and deliver a structured community engagement programme, including consultations, public meetings and briefings.
• Ensure clear, consistent, and accessible messaging for all audiences.
• Monitor local concerns, track enquiries and complaints, and manage emerging issues with defined ownership.
• Escalate risks early, such as political opposition, media attention or community concerns.
• Collaborate with programme and contractor teams to support project delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience engaging a diverse range of stakeholders in complex environments.
• Ability to build trust, navigate differing perspectives and represent community interests within the organisation.
• Comfort operating in potentially competing stakeholder contexts.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to issue identification.
