Senior Pharmacy Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacist in delivering safe, efficient pharmacy services while providing a delightful customer experience. Working under direct supervision, you will operate pharmacy systems, manage cash registers, and mentor junior technicians in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with prescription entry, verification, dispensing, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Operate pharmacy computer systems to retrieve patient and drug information, process manual claims, and handle third‑party prescription services.
• Coach and train pharmacy technicians and cashiers on system usage, cash handling, and best‑practice customer service.
• Provide a distinctive customer experience by greeting patients, answering questions, and guiding them to over‑the‑counter products.
• Manage pharmacy cash register, collect and handle cash, and ensure accurate sales recording.
• Lead inventory activities including ordering, receiving, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to the Quality Improvement Program and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist intervention, including physician communications.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
• Strong knowledge of state, federal and company pharmacy regulations and code of conduct.
• Ability to work under direct supervision of a pharmacist and follow established policies.
• Excellent attention to detail for accurate prescription entry and error reporting.
• Customer‑focused attitude with strong interpersonal habits.
