Quality Assurance Engineer – Software Development

About the role

Join Devoteam’s multidisciplinary team in Porto as a Quality Assurance Engineer focused on software development. You will ensure the reliability and performance of our applications by designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive test strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases covering functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, PyTest, Playwright, TestNG, or JUnit.
• Perform manual and automated testing across functional, regression, integration, and user‑acceptance scenarios.
• Analyze, document, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps and expected results.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to clarify specifications and resolve quality issues.
• Monitor test execution progress, coverage metrics, and QA performance indicators.
• Maintain organized test documentation, test data, and test environments.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging testing tools, methodologies, and best practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.

Required skills

• Programming languages: Java, Python, C#, JavaScript.
• Test automation tools/frameworks: Selenium, Cucumber, Robot Framework, PyTest, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit.
• API testing tools and techniques.
• Bug tracking and test management tools: Jira, TestRail.
• Version control systems, especially Git.
