Propagation Technician

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Propagation Technician to join our cultivation team in Alcochete. You will be responsible for the earliest and most critical stages of plant development, ensuring healthy, uniform, and vigorous young plants that form the foundation of our production cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Execute all propagation activities, including taking cuttings, applying rooting treatments, and managing seed germination while maintaining high success rates and genetic consistency.
• Maintain the health, vigor, and productivity of mother plants to provide a reliable supply of high‑quality material.
• Monitor and adjust temperature, humidity, lighting, and irrigation to create optimal growing conditions, coordinating closely with the irrigation team.
• Conduct regular plant health inspections, support Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs, and assist with pathogen and virus screening.
• Document all activities accurately, including batch tracking, growth data, inventory, and maintenance logs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Uphold strict sanitation standards and contribute to continuous improvement by staying informed on industry best practices.
