Part‑time Lecturer in Philosophy (Lisbon)

About the role

Forward College seeks a part‑time Lecturer in Philosophy to teach a term‑long course titled “The Good Life: Wisdom, Emotions, and Human Flourishing” to first‑year PPLE students. The role runs from September to December 2026 and involves delivering 11 two‑hour seminars to a small, international cohort of about 15 students.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver seminar sessions using a flipped‑classroom approach.
• Prepare reading lists, case studies, and teaching materials.
• Grade three assessments and provide personalized feedback.
• Conduct two 20‑minute academic tutorials per student.
• Maintain high‑quality, small‑group teaching standards.
• Potentially contribute to future courses as student numbers grow.

Required profile

• Passion for teaching philosophy and engaging diverse learners.
• Experience teaching philosophy at the higher‑education level.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with an international student body.
• Right to work in Europe (no visa sponsorship available).
