Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) – Hemodialysis

About the role

We are seeking an Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to join our hemodialysis health‑care team. The RN will provide daily quality care to patients with end‑stage renal disease, following FMCNA policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care Technicians and supervise LVN/LPNs, dialysis assistants, and other staff in delivering safe chronic hemodialysis therapy.
• Delegate tasks, assess daily patient care needs, and assign appropriate patient care assignments.
• Monitor staff techniques and adherence to facility policies, providing feedback and corrective action as needed.
• Participate in staff training, orientation of new hires, and required staff meetings.
• Educate patients and families on ESRD, vascular access, dialysis therapy, diet, fluid, medication compliance, and transplant/modality options.
• Implement treatment prescriptions, including sodium modeling and ultrafiltration modeling, and adjust therapy based on patient response.
• Conduct initial, annual, and ongoing nursing assessments and document patient care needs per FMCNA policies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license with experience in outpatient hemodialysis.
• Familiarity with FMCNA compliance programs, quality enhancement initiatives, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to supervise and train multidisciplinary staff and communicate effectively with patients, families, and physicians.
