Ocean Transport Monitoring Specialist

About the role

The Ocean Transport Monitoring Specialist oversees end‑to‑end ocean shipment performance, ensuring timely, efficient and visible stock delivery to markets. Based in Braga/Lisbon, the role combines data‑driven monitoring with close collaboration across markets, suppliers, carriers and Global Logistics Procurement to proactively resolve issues and drive service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the enhancement of the Track & Trace process and manage the monitoring team.
• Ensure timely resolution of exceptions throughout ocean transport.
• Maintain data accuracy in the Ocean Platform and Dashboard for full market visibility.
• Coordinate loading dates with the export team and track containers from loading point to port of loading.
• Monitor shipments for deviations, update ETAs and inform markets accordingly.
• Manage arrival notices, follow‑up on empty container returns and handle change‑of‑destination requests.
• Oversee platform performance against SLAs and ensure business continuity.
• Support operational tasks, conduct health checks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Technical university degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding or shipping lines (import/export).
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Solid knowledge of physical logistics and supply‑chain project management.
• Experience working with external providers.
• Advanced English proficiency (Spanish a plus).
