Mechanical Design Engineer – Data Center

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a large‑scale data‑center project in Sines, Portugal. You will support the development, installation and commissioning of complex mechanical systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise on‑site execution of mechanical installations according to design requirements.
• Verify layouts, equipment and installed components during construction.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and propose practical solutions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Review and validate As‑Built documentation.
• Support commissioning activities and system start‑up.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards, quality and health & safety regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s a plus).
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design and on‑site technical assistance.
• Background in industrial or critical infrastructure environments.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, fire protection, diesel, plumbing and drainage systems.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Familiarity with technical standards and site health & safety requirements.
