Legal Counsel – Tech & Data Privacy

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Legal, Privacy & Compliance Counsel to join Defined.ai’s fast‑growing team. You will act as a business partner, delivering practical legal advice on commercial contracts, data protection and AI governance across our global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with customers, vendors and data providers.
• Provide proactive legal and regulatory guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Support GDPR and other global privacy compliance initiatives.
• Contribute to AI governance, data‑lifecycle management and risk‑mitigation activities.
• Develop and maintain internal policies, procedures and compliance programmes.
• Assist in supplier and dataset vetting, third‑party risk management, and deliver training on legal, privacy and compliance topics.

Required profile

• Lawyer or legal advisor qualified in the EU with 2‑3 years of experience.
• Strong background in commercial contracts and data‑protection law.
• Experience in technology, AI or data‑driven environments is a plus.
• Business‑oriented mindset with excellent stakeholder management.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional setting.
• Fluent English and high integrity in responsible AI development.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GDPR and other global privacy frameworks.
• Familiarity with AI Act, ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 (nice to have).
