Legal & Compliance Officer – Healthcare Sector

About the role

We are seeking a Legal & Compliance Officer to join a multinational healthcare organization operating in Portugal. The role will serve as the primary liaison between local operations and corporate headquarters, ensuring that all legal and compliance matters are managed effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal analysis, review contracts and coordinate with external counsel when needed.
• Implement, monitor and enforce compliance policies covering interactions with healthcare professionals, data protection, antitrust, business partners, codes of conduct and conflicts of interest.
• Deliver training sessions on legal and compliance topics to internal stakeholders.
• Oversee the rollout of corporate policies across departments, aligning them with Portuguese legislation and corporate standards.
• Support senior leadership with accurate legal and compliance insights for strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Law degree (mandatory).
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the pharmaceutical, healthcare or banking sectors.
• Strong knowledge of data protection, healthcare regulations and corporate governance.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• High sense of responsibility, autonomy, initiative and flexibility.
• Critical thinking, problem‑solving and strong communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
