Head of Human Resources

About the role

Bathera is a fast‑growing, fully vertically integrated medical cannabis company operating in Germany, Portugal and Australia. As Head of Human Resources you will own and shape the global people agenda during a critical international scaling phase, working closely with founders and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute Bathera’s global People & Culture strategy.
• Build and strengthen a performance‑driven, values‑based culture across all regions.
• Oversee HR operations in Portugal and abroad, ensuring compliance with local labour laws and regulatory frameworks.
• Drive talent acquisition, employer branding and workforce planning.
• Design scalable performance, compensation and benefits frameworks.
• Develop leadership, succession and learning initiatives.
• Act as a trusted advisor to founders and senior leadership.

Required profile

• 5+ years in senior People/HR leadership roles in international environments.
• Proven experience scaling organisations, preferably in regulated industries such as pharma, life sciences, biotech or medical cannabis.
• Strong understanding of Portuguese labour law.
• Strategic thinker with a hands‑on, pragmatic mindset.
• Excellent stakeholder and leadership skills.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
