Director Sales & Marketing

About the role

The Director Sales & Marketing leads the sales department of a hotel with over 300 peak rooms and significant catering revenue. The role combines proactive and reactive sales management, brand strategy implementation, and long‑term customer relationship building to achieve booking and revenue targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the property’s sales team, setting daily objectives and coaching associates to meet booking goals.
• Develop and execute strategic account plans for key demand generators in the market.
• Manage both reactive and proactive sales activities across all channels, including area sales, group sales, and electronic leads.
• Oversee the marketing budget, creating property‑specific campaigns, promotions and collateral to drive revenue.
• Coordinate with regional marketing communications to align national and regional promotions.
• Analyse market and economic trends, customer intelligence and competitor strategies to adjust sales tactics.
• Review strategic alignment reports and competitive shopping data to maintain market positioning.
• Ensure brand service strategy and initiatives are applied throughout the sales process.

Required profile

• 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management or related field with at least 4 years sales and marketing experience, or a 4‑year bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years experience.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise a team.
• Proven lodging sales experience and progressive career growth in the hotel industry.
• Strong record of exceptional performance in sales and marketing roles.
