Director of Operational Excellence (Remote)

About the role

The Director of Operational Excellence will independently lead M&A diligence and integration, own P&L objectives for business units, and build AI‑driven automations across multiple portfolio companies. This remote, high‑impact role works directly with CEOs, CFOs and functional leaders to drive financial results without managing a team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead M&A due diligence and integration for enterprise software acquisitions, coordinating with investment banks, legal advisors and target executives.
• Own quarterly P&L budgets for multi‑product business units, identify margin improvement opportunities and deliver cost‑reduction strategies to CEOs and CFOs.
• Develop and deploy AI‑driven automations using platforms such as Claude Code and Cursor to evaluate vendor spend, build cost models and generate executive‑ready analysis.
• Manage the full vendor lifecycle for over 70 contracts, including negotiation, legal coordination, procurement, invoicing and termination.
• Serve as the single integration point for portfolio operations, aligning Finance, Legal, Engineering, SaaS, HR and IT functions with business results.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operational leadership, M&A integration or turnaround environments within enterprise software.
• Strong financial acumen with responsibility for P&L and budget management.
• Ability to work independently, make data‑driven decisions and influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
• Excellent communication skills to present findings to CEOs, CFOs and functional leaders.
