Construction Superintendent – Mechanical/Piping

About the role

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent focused on Mechanical and Piping works for a project in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. You will lead daily scheduling, planning, and coordination on‑site, ensuring the right materials, equipment and personnel are available while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the daily construction schedule and site logistics.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to align scope, drawings, and specifications.
• Oversee procurement and delivery of mechanical and piping materials and equipment.
• Lead safety initiatives, including JHA revisions and daily permit sign‑offs.
• Conduct constructability reviews, walk‑downs, and client/owner meetings.
• Manage project budgets, scope packages, and schedule performance.
• Support turnover processes, including punch‑list completion and final inspections.

Required profile

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of construction site experience, preferably with hygienic and non‑hygienic piping.
• Proven ability to lead contractors and supervise on‑site activities.
• Experience reviewing Mechanical, Equipment & Piping (M/E/P) scopes from bid phase through construction.
• Strong knowledge of pre‑design, building systems, contract management and client relationship building.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Experience using 3D modeling tools.
• Competence in Bluebeam for document review and markup.
• Ability to manage project schedules and budgets.
• Knowledge of safety documentation such as Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).
