Android Software Engineer II

About the role

Tripadvisor is looking for a Software Engineer II – Android to join its fast‑growing Experiences Engineering team. The position is based within a commutable distance of the Lisbon office and follows a remote‑first model with periodic in‑person gatherings.

Key responsibilities

• Write high‑quality code for Android applications and, when needed, contribute to backend micro‑services.
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to define feature specifications and deliver customer‑focused solutions.
• Own the full software lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Work alongside global engineering groups to ensure consistency and scalability across platforms.

Required profile

• 2‑6 years of commercial software development experience, preferably with rich user interfaces.
• Proven experience developing Android applications.
• Familiarity with mobile web and backend technologies is a plus.
• Experience with reactive programming on native mobile platforms.
• Ability to break down complex problems into simple, maintainable solutions.
