Hotel General Manager – Lifestyle Hotel Opening

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead the opening and ongoing operations of Hotel Praia do Sol, an independent lifestyle hotel in Costa da Caparica. Reporting directly to the founding partners, you will shape the guest experience from day one and embed the hotel’s values of authenticity, sustainability, and community connection.

Key responsibilities

• Lead pre‑opening preparation and operational launch, coordinating all departments.
• Oversee daily operations of accommodation, restaurant, wellness areas, and public spaces.
• Recruit, train, and develop a high‑performing hotel team.
• Maintain high standards of service quality, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Manage budgets, cost control, revenue performance, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate with suppliers, partners, and local stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, employment, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Hotel General Manager, Hotel Manager, or senior hospitality operations leader.
• Previous involvement in hotel openings or pre‑opening phases is a strong plus.
• Strong leadership, organisational, financial and problem‑solving abilities.
• Hands‑on, proactive, autonomous working style.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English.
• Genuine interest in lifestyle hospitality and community‑driven projects.
