Application Support Engineer – French Required

About the role

KCS IT is seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer who can provide first‑line support for business applications while communicating fluently in French and English. The position is hybrid, based in Porto, Portugal, and requires a proactive attitude to resolve incidents and improve service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, diagnose and resolve application incidents using ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira or Remedy.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to implement fixes.
• Execute data queries and basic troubleshooting using SQL and database tools.
• Maintain application environments on Linux/Unix and Windows platforms and follow ITIL processes for Incident, Problem and Change Management.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and shift work as needed to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Required profile

• Minimum 4‑5 years of experience in Application, IT or Production Support.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and French (spoken and written).
• Familiarity with ITIL best practices and ticketing systems.
• Willingness to work in shifts or on‑call schedules.
