General Counsel – Remote (Global)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive US‑bar‑qualified General Counsel to lead our in‑house legal function across three distinct business streams: a top‑5 direct‑to‑consumer e‑commerce brand, a family office investing in hedge funds, and cross‑border legal structuring for multiple jurisdictions. This senior position reports directly to the CEO and operates remotely with required overlap with EMEA time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee legal compliance for the e‑commerce brand, including FTC guidelines and consumer protection.
• Manage hedge‑fund subscription, custody protocols, and negotiate LP terms.
• Design and implement cross‑border asset‑structuring strategies.
• Lead outside‑counsel relationships and coordinate multi‑jurisdictional matters.
• Identify material legal risks and deliver monthly exposure audits to the CEO.
• Conduct quarterly compliance sweeps across all consumer‑facing platforms.

Required profile

• US Bar admission and ability to work across EMEA time zones.
• Proven senior legal leadership in both e‑commerce regulation and hedge‑fund documentation.
• Experience with multi‑jurisdictional legal structuring.
• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of identifying and mitigating legal risks.

Required skills

• US Bar license.
• Deep knowledge of FTC compliance and consumer protection law.
• Expertise in hedge‑fund subscription, custody documentation, and LP negotiations.
• Proficiency in cross‑border legal structuring and international regulatory frameworks.
