Part-time Lecturer in Law – Lisbon (2026)

About the role

Forward College is seeking a part‑time Lecturer in Law to design and teach a semester‑long course for first‑year PPLE students. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, small‑group instruction using a flipped‑classroom model.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver the “From News to Law” course for first‑year PPLE students.
• Conduct 11 two‑hour seminar sessions per term, managing a group of about 12 students.
• Provide 7.5 hours of tutoring per week across two groups.
• Prepare teaching materials that use real‑world news cases and a flipped‑classroom approach.
• Assess student participation and assignments, offering feedback to support their legal literacy.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching law at university or equivalent level.
• Ability to explain complex legal concepts to students from diverse academic backgrounds.
• Right to work in Portugal/Europe without sponsorship.
• Fluency in English (teaching language).

Required skills

• Knowledge of European legal systems, EU law, and common‑law principles.
• Familiarity with flipped‑classroom and small‑group teaching methods.
