Android Developer (RFID & hardware integration)

About the role

Decskill is seeking an experienced Android Developer to join a hybrid project in Aveiro. You will work on building and maintaining native Android applications that integrate tightly with RFID, barcode, and other scanning hardware. The role offers exposure to international clients and a collaborative, people‑first culture.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable RFID libraries for multiple Android apps.
• Integrate and stabilize SDKs for RFID readers, barcode scanners, and related devices.
• Implement high‑performance reading processes and ensure reliability across diverse environments.
• Diagnose and resolve lifecycle and state‑management issues in Kotlin code.
• Define observability practices, including logging, metrics, and tracking.
• Write comprehensive unit, instrumentation, and regression tests.
• Collaborate with product teams to turn production issues into technical improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional mobile development experience.
• Strong expertise in native Android using Kotlin.
• Hands‑on experience with Coroutines, Flow, and concurrency management.
• Proven ability to integrate hardware SDKs (RFID, barcode, scanners).
• Familiarity with MQTT or similar messaging systems.
• Solid debugging skills in complex, real‑world environments.
